It has been 16 long years and the J&K Forest-XI footballers are yet to see themselves get regularized in the services. To demand their right Forest football team players held demonstration in Srinagar on Tuesday demanding regularization of their services.
The nine footballers were demanding regularization of their services in the Forest department where they have been serving for 16 years.
“Despite having been playing for last more than 16 years for the Forest football team our services are not being regularized and our future looks dark. During our stay with the team we have brought many laurels for the department as well as State but in return we have got nothing,” said protesting players.
It was in year 2003-04 that Forest department did new recruitment into the Forest football team and selected best available footballers in State at that time. It rejuvenated the team and changed its fortunes at state and National level.
