SRINAGAR: The 10th National Pencak Silat championship for Senior and master ( Men and Women) was today inaugurated amid enthusiasm and fervour at Sheri Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar here.
The event is being organised by Pencak Silat Association of J&K under the Banner of Indian Pencak Silat Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
The Joint Secretary J&K Sports council, Bashir Ahmad Bhat was the Chief Guest on the occasion while as Shiekh Riyaz Ahmad (administrative officer sports council) was the Guest of Honour.
The three day event hosting teams from 34 States and UT’s besides teams from Indian Police and ParaMilitary shall conclude on 24th October 2022.
Around 1200 participants from different states of india are participating in this event.
During the championship events in different weight categories of Tanding besides competitions in Tunggal, Ganda Solo and Regu are scheduled to be held.
President Indian Pencak Silat Federation Kishore Kumar Yawley and Secretary General Indian Pencak Silat Federation Mufti Hamid Yaseen, Maqsood Ahmad Khan manager Sheri Kashmir Indoor stadium besides officials from Sports Council and other departments also attended the inaugural function.
