Srinagar, October 28: J&K Senior Women’s team started the One-Day tourney on a dominating note, bowling out Sikkim for paltry 33 runs to post an easy win of 9 wickets on Thursday at Eden Gardens.
Earlier, J&K, after winning the toss, opted to bowl first, knowing strips at Eden Gardens offer help to bowlers earlier on. The decision paid off handsomely with J&K dismissing four Sikkim batters under the score of 7 in the first 4 overs.
Nadia Choudhary (5-0-11-4) and Sarla Devi (4.1-0-11-3) shared 7 wickets while Bismah Hassan and Sandhya picked 2 and 1 wickets, respectively as Sikkim was bundled out on surprising 33 runs.
Later, Sarla Devi’s well-composed unbeaten 31-ball 24 runs helped J&K chase down these runs in just 8.2 overs with 9 wickets in hand.
J&K next faces Arunachal Pradesh on October 29.
